I was just playing a little bit with the Leica X1 because I have to do some difficult shooting this weekend. During a special event in a small church in Germany restored frescos will be shown. I need some good shots form this and the “festival” afterward with fires. Do get the camera as silent as possible I turned off all audio signals but still had the sound of the autofocus. So I tried manual focusing. This is with firmware 2.0 reasonable fast, but then I thought what would happen if I use AF and then switch to MF?
well this works superb! you use Af to get the focus correct and then switch to manual focusing. The set distance from Af is also used in MF. When you release the shutter that is the only sound left. Cannot wait to try this in the church.
so keep an eye on this blog for the pictures.
Rob.
